The Killala cemetery is situated on the north side of Killala close to the Roman Catholic church, overlooking an inlet on Killala bay. Killala is halfway between Ballina and Ballycastle on the R314 road and has one of the best preserved Round Towers in the area. Before this cemetery was opened, the main local graveyard in use was Crosspatrick on the south side of Killala. Nearly all the graves have legible headstones.
